An old derelict hotel situated on Hockley Heath which was once upon a time the Aylesbury House Hotel was destroyed by fire on 22nd September. Insurers will likely stipulate a level of fire protection but there are not any regulations regarding the level of protection to derelict buildings.
There were as many as five crews in attendance at one point and the fire took several hours to stop and that is before the clean-up has begun. Even though there are no lives to protect in derelict buildings there are far reaching consequences if a fire does occur.
If you have any kind of property that needs protection please contact us here at Fire & Electrical Safety Ltd and we can advise.
